In Raspberry Gulch

3 1/2″ x 5″ hard ground and aquatint etching
on Somerset paper with black Daniel Smith ink.

Don’t glue the pine cones to the trees
while the telephone watches with purple eyes
and the donut’s an elephant,
glazed, trumpeting music like piccolos
playing themselves.
The moon melts
and flows over the ground like fog
and feeds on the street lights.

The griffins are hidden and waiting.
The moss covered griffins are waiting.

Don’t

  1. Hi Bob.I am Chair of Liberal Arts at Laguna College of Art and Design (a private, not-for-profit 4-year college of the arts in So Cal). I was searching the web for an OED when I came across an e-mail message of yours. Do you still have copies you’re willing to part with? I’m looking for one for our library–preferably the 20-volume set.Sincerely,Grant Hierghier@lagunacollege.edu
